Provo's Westside needs a strong voice on the City Council.

Development is about to affect Provo’s Westside like never before.

  • I-15 expansion including frontage road systems and corrections to current road designs.

  • Widening Geneva Road to a potential 7 lanes of traffic.

  • The Westside Connector from the I-15 south interchange to the Airport.

  • Continued Airport expansion.

  • Extension of the Westside Connector to the North to create a belt route.

  • Potential zoning changes and additional commercial development along the I-15 corridor and Center Street.

  • Several hundred acres of proposed housing developments as well as in-fill development.

  • Neighborhood participation in the design of our park.

  • Geneva Road Design Corridor.

  • Balancing open space with increasing development pressures and allowing for trails and access to nature

These issues demand our vision and our input to assure that our neighborhood’s desirability is not only maintained – but enhanced! If we don’t speak up now, someone else will make these decisions for us!

We simply must have a say in how we approach this growth, to ensure that we build adequate infrastructure and maintain a proper, desirable balance between open space and new development.

With these potential changes about to impact our neighborhood so dramatically – we need to be heard!

I see the need for a strong presence on the city council to represent our needs and viewpoints here in the Westside! And as a mother, a small business owner, and a long-time Provo citizen, the Lakeview North Neighborhorhood Chair and Southwest Area Rep — I have the experience, the ability, and the passion to speak up and effectively represent our neighborhood!

Provo’s Westide is a wonderful place to live – and my presence on the city council can help keep it that way!

Sherrie will be a terrific advocate for the Westside because she researches each issue carefully and makes sure she understands all of the concerns before making a decision. And, because she lives and works on the Westside, she is sensitive to Westside issues like no other candidate can be.

I have been continually impressed with Sherrie’s dedication and vision for the neighborhoods on the Westside of Provo. She has a comprehensive knowledge of the issues that are facing us in the immediate and distant future and is willing to make the commitment of time and energy needed to serve our neighborhoods effectively.

The Provo West Side needs a representative on the City Council. I support Sherrie Hall Everett’s candidacy to be that representative. As the Lakeview North Neighborhood Chair, Sherrie has regularly attended city council and planning commission meetings, has become thoroughly informed about the issues affecting the west side, has held regular neighborhood meetings to communicate her knowledge, gather opinions, and rally neighborhood participation in the political process, has established a website and email lists to keep the neighborhood informed, has brought city council members to West side meetings and on-site problem spots, and has established connections with other neighborhood chairs to enable cooperation. Sherrie’s active interest in ensuring that Provo’s Westside neighborhoods be safe, beautiful, and economically viable will contribute to the greater good of our city.
